rage, jealousy, intrigue, backstabbing, love, hate, mixed emotions, and loss of hope
Rick Novy has just reviewed an advance reading copy of Bitterwood at his blog "Frothing at the Mouth," which is, I must note, a blog name I wish I'd thought of. Check it out.
My novel Bitterwood, was released in July, 2007 by Solaris Books. The book has been described as "a futuristic Robin Hood where dragons are the ruling class." It's the story of Bant Bitterwood as he's reaching the end of his legendary career as a dragon-slayer. If you enjoy fantasy novels with lots of battles where men fight monsters with nothing but muscles, nerve, and wits (and, okay, bows and arrows), then you're going to be in for a treat. My personal twist on the genre, though, is that the dragons aren't generic, evil monsters. They are fully intelligent, social creatures who view Bitterwood as the greatest villian alive and band together to wipe out his threat once and for all. The dragons are as capable of love, hope, anger, and despair as the human cast. Is the world big enough for both humans and dragons to share? No, of course not. Let the battle commence!
I'm going to limit this blog to Bitterwood news, such as upcoming booksignings and updates on the progress of the second book from the Dragon Age, Dragon Forge. If you want to read more wide ranging posts, check out my other blog at "whateverville."
